The automaker secures a remarkable lead in iSeeCars’ 2025 study, proving its vehicles are built to go the distance.
Toyota Leads the Pack
Toyota Tops Longevity Charts. Toyota continues to solidify its reputation for reliability, taking an overwhelming lead in the 2025 iSeeCars Longest-Lasting Cars Study. Out of the 25 vehicles most likely to reach 250,000 miles, Toyota claims 10 spots, more than any other automaker. The Toyota Sequoia stands out as the clear winner, with a 39.1% predicted chance of surpassing the quarter-million-mile mark—over eight times higher than the industry’s 4.8% average.
A Study Built on Millions of Cars
The iSeeCars Longest-Lasting Cars Study, launched in 2013, remains one of the most comprehensive analyses of vehicle durability in the industry. For the 2025 edition, researchers examined data from over 174 million vehicles to determine which models are statistically most likely to stay on the road the longest. According to Karl Brauer, Executive Analyst at iSeeCars, this year’s results confirm Toyota’s engineering excellence:
Even the lowest-ranked model on the list nearly doubles the average vehicle’s odds of hitting 250,000 miles,” Brauer said. “The Sequoia’s performance is exceptional—showing how Toyota’s focus on longevity continues to set the standard.”
SUVs Take the Spotlight
Sport utility vehicles dominate the rankings, accounting for nearly half of the list. Toyota leads the SUV category with four models: Sequoia, 4Runner, Highlander Hybrid, and Highlander. Lexus, Toyota’s luxury sibling, follows closely with three entries, while Honda contributes two, and Acura and Chevrolet each secure one.
The study highlights how SUVs have become the go-to choice for long-term reliability, reflecting consumer trust in their balance of durability, comfort, and performance.
Pickups and Sedans Hold Strong
Pickup trucks also make a strong showing with six entries—four full-size light-duty and two midsize models—showing that work-ready vehicles are just as capable of enduring heavy use. Sedans remain relevant, too, with seven models across Toyota, Lexus, Honda, and Acura proving that everyday commuters can still deliver exceptional mileage longevity.
Toyota’s Reliability Legacy Grows
With nearly half of the top 10 positions, Toyota’s dominance in the 2025 study reinforces what drivers have known for decades: Toyota vehicles last. Whether it’s a family SUV, a pickup built for hauling, or a hybrid sedan, the brand’s consistent engineering and quality craftsmanship ensure that Toyota remains synonymous with dependability for years to come.
